How I Do Reviews

I realize the grading system needs some clarification, so I have created this page to explain things.

Presentation: The graphics and sound of the game, including cutscenes and such if applicable.

Flow: How it generally feels to play the game. Controls, gameplay, pace, navigating\starting things up, et cetera.

Thrill: The novelty and excitement of the game, or the “fun” factor. Is it indeed fun to play? What compelling experience does it offer?

Replayability: Just how it sounds. Is it good enough to play again? And, what exactly about it makes it worth playing again?

None of these really has to be discussed at a strict length, I expect it to vary by game.

And for anyone interested, here is a list of the systems I use to play each type of game I review:

NES: NES Classic Edition
SNES: SNES Classic Edition
Game Boy: Game Boy (original DMG-01 model)
Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance: Game Boy Advance SP (AGS-101 model)
-If cartridge is not available: Virtual Console (N3DSXL)
DS and DSi: DSi (original)
-N3DSXL for some DSiWare
3DS: New 3DS XL
A2600: Atari Flashback handheld

I’m currently at college without access to most of my original home consoles, which is why emulator systems are used for the non-handhelds.
